Day 18: Rest day Dumfries

The temperature dropped significantly yesterday evening and so we decided to try the heating system. We were very toasty. We were even more toasty in bed turning over and over as if we were roasting on spits. Steve had left the heating on! Once that was sorted we had a good nights sleep and a bit of a lay in this morning.

It was -2 degrees this morning and Steve said there was ice in the inside of the cab windows.

Then a time to do a few jobs while Rhoda and Steve popped out for a while. Washing done, first aid kit and foot care stuff sorted, the later was a long job!

Then Danny arrived. Poppy was very excited to see him and if course so was I. We went out for a lovely late lunch. Well I have to get the calories in!

Danny gave my hair a quick trim despite forgetting his equipment! No time for dying it though, that will have to wait for later.

I took the opportunity to have another long shower and do a bit of foot care before retiring to bed and writing this blog.

Hi Tracey, I think about you everyday when I’m out walking and when I’m asked about our China trip. I’ve just caught up with the last 10 days of your travels. The photos look fantastic and I’m pleased that your feet are on the mend. Take care, the roads sound terrifying to walk along. Liz Gallop
