One woman. One coastline. One very special reason.

In September 2023, I lost Angela, my wife, soulmate and partner in adventure for 37 years. She was just 58.
Losing Angela turned my world upside down. I needed to find a way to navigate my grief, honour her memory and turn something heartbreaking into something positive.
So I decided to walk around the coastline of mainland Britain.
On 1 November 2024, I set off from the Beatson in Glasgow. Exactly one year later, I returned, having walked 5,108 miles, taken around 11.2 million steps and faced everything the British weather could throw at me.
Along the way, I experienced extraordinary kindness, made wonderful friendships, pushed myself beyond what I thought possible and raised funds and awareness for five cancer charities:
Beatson Cancer Charity · Marie Curie · brainstrust · CoppaFeel! · Breast Cancer Now
The journey didn’t take away my grief, but it gave me purpose, helped me rediscover joy and showed me that life can still hold adventure and hope after devastating loss.
I walked because I loved Angela. And because that love will always be part of my journey.
