What a start to the day. Megan at Asda Irvine provided me with a very warm and welcoming greeting and a full veggie breakfast to get me on my way.

Then the lovely management team at Rivergate Shopping Centre let me park Priscilla in a prominent spot right outside the main entrance.

Finally off along the port side with Poppy by my side today.

This is the abandoned science centre and bridge across the river. What a sorry state. Such a contrast to Glasgow Science Centre where I spent 5 fun filled years.

Lots of beaches today. Surprisingly busy.

Even Poppy could be free and enjoy herself off the lead.

I stopped at Troon and had lunch in Drift cafe where Angela and I had been before. Bittersweet memories for me. However, I met some nice people Donald and Marin who donated.

Refuelled and on my way again now with ibuprofen kicking in the day improved. The tide was in at the end of Troon beach and so it was either swim across or go the long way. An easy decision. Then past Prestwick airport where the planes literally fly overhead. Finally into Ayr where Danny was waiting at the station to give me a lift back to Irvine to collect Priscilla. By coincidence he had been playing golf in Troon.

Off to Jeans in Ayr as I’m parking on her drive tonight. A welcome shower and foot inspection. Oh dear very swollen. Rest day tomorrow!!!!!
