Day 311: rest day Ullapool

Best bits: debrief interview with Aly

Worst bits: saying goodbye to Aly

Distance: rest day

It was a breezy start to the day and the wind was to pick up all morning. It was Alys last day and she was heading off on the 11 am bus. She wouldn’t gate home until after 9 pm today.

We chatted about our trip yesterday and all the wildlife we saw and decided it was a good choice as today the sea was very choppy.

After a debrief interview and a few jobs I walked with her to the bus stop. it won’t be long before we see each other again at the finish!

Rest day usually means job day and today way no exception. I cleaned and tidied Priscilla and did my laundry. I did try pegging some towels out on the washing line but had to admit defeat as the pegs shot off as they were no match for the strong wind. Some other folks washing flew off the line and was in danger of ending up in the sea!

After lunch, washing up, emptying the toilet and a shower it was a quick trip to Tescos to stock up on provisions. Then fuel for Priscilla before settling off to my rendezvous point with Janet back near Corrieshalloch Gorge.

We caught up over a Gin and tonic and planned the next few days ahead.
