Best bits: delicious fish and chips
Worst bits: tight hamstrings
Distance: 10 miles
Today is 1st September which means another month done that’s 10 months completed and only 2 months remaining. Who would have thought it all those months ago when I started walking. I’ve now walked 4,000 miles which is equivalent to 152 marathons and 9 million steps, equivalent to 900 days (2 and a half years) of 10,000 steps!
I had a much better night’s sleep unlike Aly who didn’t like the 30 mph gusts of winds blowing Priscilla about. Aly was worried that we might end up in the sea. I’ve been in Priscilla in 70 mph gusts and so I was blazé about it.
After a leisurely start Aly drove me back to Rhiconich where we parked next to a police car! I’ve not seen one of those for a long time. It was a bit breezy but the going was good on the road and I soon warmed up. The weather forecast was for showers but thankfully they never materialised.
Once again the views were spectacular and the sun came out and it warmed up and I was back in just a T-shirt. The sunlight lit up the scenery and provided contrast with the munro Ben Stack in the shade. This is the view from Laxford Bridge with the river Laxford in the foreground.

After a short ascent this was my view of the sea from Priscilla at my lunch break.

It was much warmer after lunch and the sky turned blue creating a lovely backdrop to the scenery.

The final stretch today was alongside Loch a’ Bhadaidh Daraich a freshwater loch.

All in all a rather quick walk today covering 10 miles in just over three hours. My hamstrings were still tight and I will need to stretch them.
Aly went for a walk on the beach and took a look at the highland coos. I had a shower and stayed in Priscilla and chilled.
I think Aly was first in the queue at the fish and chip van. What a treat that was tonight it was absolutely delicious.

Unfortunately the weather forecast was for even stronger winds tonight. I hope Aly can get some sleep!
