Best bits: talking to residents at Spitfire lodge
Worst bits: drone no fly zone!

After breakfast with Joyce, Emma and I walked to the riverside area to do some filming. The river made for a fine backdrop to the shots.
We were excited to see black swans on the river, with their bright red beaks.
We were hoping to get some drone footage, but when we tried to fly it it wouldn’t take off because we were in a restricted area near to the airport. That was a disappointment for both of us.
The nature of filming today was quite intense at times. We talked about the importance of being out in nature. The changing seasons, the sounds the smells, the feeling of the wind or the rain on your face. How in the winter months in the bad weather I used to shout at the weather telling it to bring it on! It was though I was battling my grief and battling the weather all at the same time.
The bluebells are flowering at the moment and they were always important to Angela and myself. We were surrounded by bluebells at the time of our civil partnership and have gone to see the bluebells in Mugdock Country Park every year thereafter. Last year we spread Angela’s ashes there amongst the flowering bluebells.
Emma left to return to London and I returned to the room. I added iron on stickers and sowed on some TraceysTrek patches to my shorts.
I was asked to give a talk about my trek to the residents of Spitfire Lodge this afternoon and a request to take a look at Priscilla. So I thought I had better give Priscilla a quick spring clean.
There was a great turnout with lots of interest and some fantastic questions. The residents were also very generous in their donations.
Everyone seemed to enjoy the viewing of Priscilla and my living facilities. This was helped by the fantastic weather we are having at the moment.
It’s been an intense couple of days filming and I’m emotionally exhausted. Back to walking tomorrow!
