Day 111: rest day, Exeter, Bideford

So much for a rest day, I had to have Priscilla at Vospers Fiat garage in Exeter for 8.30 am this morning. Fortunately, I had parked on the street right outside it and so I only had to roll out of bed and wait for the gates to be opened.

She was seen very promptly and we were back on the road for 10:30 am. All is looking well so far so fingers crossed that’s fixed the problem of the faulty clutch sensor. Just the water leak to sort out now!!

I decided to drive straight back to Bideford and parked on a retail park. Lunch at Costa Coffee before a quick wander past the shops and replenishing supplies for the week ahead.

I spent most of the afternoon trying to work out logistics for the next few days as I’m in quite remote places and don’t have any support close by.

I had a call with Simon from Sheffield Hallam University when we talked about data, social media, donations and influences.

Then I drove to the car park Bucks Mill. That was a bit of a mistake as the road was quite steep and narrow on the way down and the entrance to the car park was literally just as wide as Priscilla. I had to move the wing mirrors in to enable me to get through the entrance. I decided this wasn’t going to be a workable option and so had to change my plans entirely and instead drove to Hartland. I managed to get parked up for the night and cooked a meal. It’s a very early start tomorrow.

Finally catching up on updating the software on my devices and writing the blogs for the last two days.

Best bits: getting Priscilla fixed

Worst bits: trying to sort out the logistics of the next three days.

Distance: rest day
