The ferry from Knott End to Fleetwood didn’t start until 11am so we decided to start the day by skipping the 3 miles to the ferry and drive to Fleetwood where the ferry terminates.
So after a slower start to the day we made Priscilla ready for travel and off we went. The roads are much larger and busier here and so I’m hoping I don’t have to walk on them!
As Fiona, Poppy and I walked into Fleetwood we could smell the fish of the fishmongers and fishing boats. The tide was out which was why the ferry wasn’t running until 11am.

My first job on my walks is doing my instagram story. Then I took the chance to dance with some statues.

Walking along the seafront was very, very blustery today. I was walking into a strong headwind which slowed me down considerably. I also took the opportunity to entertain myself and some on lookers to do some dancing on the beach.

I passed a memorial to ships wrecked off this coast and to the people lost at sea on them.

The juvenile in me just couldn’t help but take this photo of the aptly named Dolly’s Baps.

After about an hour I finally got my first glimpse of Blackpool Tower. Unfortunately, it was still three hours walking away.
As I made my approach into Blackpool I saw the extent of the illuminations. They are absolutely huge when you get up close and go on for a very long way. I took a snap of the Tardis and the Darleks.
I saw Fiona go past in Priscilla, which is always a good sign. That means I’m now getting closer to where I need to be and gives me a mental boost.
The waves were splashing up against the coast and the sea was a very dark muddy brown colour with a few white tops on some waves. It’s always a good reminder of the power of the sea.
There was a huge illumination separate to everything else that said ‘I am the resurrection and the life’ and it was right opposite illuminations of show girls!!
Overall it was a very miserable overcast day initially tinged with rain. However, that turned into a full downpour later.
My first glimpse of Blackpool Pier looked very sad in the distance with no lights on or anything on it.

Then the Tower dominated the skyline and it was all I could look at. This has been my focus since I started walking. Finally I arrived. I celebrated with another dance.

I met up with Fiona and Poppy and back to Priscilla for lunch.

I had intended on walking this afternoon however, the rain became torrential and so I decided to stop for today. so after a nice hot shower we went to the cinema to see Wicked. Such an indulgence especially as it was a small cosy place with sofas.

Blimey we are now in the midst of another storm and Priscilla is being buffeted in the strong gusts. Oh well it should rock us to sleep.
Best bits: arriving at Blackpool Tower and doing a dance
Worst bits: torrential rain
Distance: 11.2 miles
