Best bits: arrival of Emma and Andrew, 5,000 miles completed
Worst bits: clouds spoiling the view of Arran.
Distance: 15.9 miles
Days to the finish: 13
After a disturbed night sleep, I eventually dragged my self out of bed. I had to complete the jobs I hadn’t managed to do yesterday because of my extended nap. I drove back into Campbelltown and parked up by the harbour.

It was cold and breezy today and the sky was overcast. This is a view of Davaar Island located at the mouth of Campbeltown Loch off the east coast of Kintyre Peninsula. It is connected to the mainland at low tide by a shingle causeway.

I stopped for a refreshment break in Peninver taking a seat in this bus shelter. I had tried two sets of toilet blocks at caravan parks both of which were locked and so I had to resort to peeing behind a bush just here.

While I was walking along the road, two delivery vans from AM transport passed me one of which pipped at me. They pulled in and the drivers jumped out asking me if I was that woman walking round Britain. They kindly made a donation.

Just before lunch break, Emma and Andrew met me along the road and we walked there together.

The island of Arran was visible today but alas not visible enough to come out on a photograph. Emma walked with me after lunch while Andrew went onto the hotel.

The route today was very undulating with steep ascents and descents and several hairpin bends to negotiate.

Autumn is in full flow here with some trees losing their leaves as we walked past creating a shower of golden brown leaves.

Kintyre Gin is made at Beinn an Tuirc Distillery which is located in an old farm building on the Torrisdale castle estate.

We passed several places where we thought we might get a cup of tea, but alas each time they were closed.

We arrived at the hotel to find Andrew waiting for us. The hotel was closed until 4 pm and so he had had to sit and wait. After chatting to a local, we decided to return to Campbelltown to collect Priscilla. We had a cup of tea in Priscilla to pass some time before returning to Carradale. Hotel.
After a shower, it was time to sample some of that Kintyre gin and tonic.

We calculated the total mileage I have walked and it came as a bit of surprise that it had just passed 5,000 miles today. Time for more gin.

Dinner in the hotel was an interesting experience as we were the only three people there and had the whole restaurant to ourselves. Apparently Emma and Andrew are the last guests for awhile before the hotel is refurbished.
