Day 324: rest day

Best bits: lazing about

Worst bits: logistics

Distance: rest day

I didn’t have any alarms set this morning, however I woke at around seven but I just looked at the time smiled and turned over. The next thing I knew it was after 10 am. I had made a flask last night and so was able to have a cup of tea in bed. It was such a great feeling not needing to get up or do anything or be anywhere or even talk to anyone.

Here is one of my weekly updates on progress so far. The gap to complete the circle is getting smaller. I’ve got around 500 miles left to walk before arriving home in Glasgow and finishing my walk on Halloween, where I started at the Beatson Cancer Hospital.

I’ve been a complete blob all day. All I’ve managed is to wash my dishes, eat and drink and watch programs on TV. I did manage to have a shower and get dressed, but that’s all.

Later on, I decided I ought to do some logistics for the final six weeks of my journey. By the end of the evening, thanks to the kindness and generosity of friends I only have two days without any cover.
