Best bits: long lay in, meeting Chris

Worst bits: doing logistics

Distance: rest day

I had a fabulously long lay in this morning. I even had a cuppa in bed followed by an interview with a local newspaper.

The rest of the day I spent doing washing and then the dreaded logistics for the final stretch of my journey.

On my way to Tescos to do a shop for next weeks provisions I stopped to ask a walker with a huge pack on his back if he needed a lift. He thanked me but said he was walking to Lands End. I said this is what I am doing on the side of Priscilla did he want a cup of tea. He said yes please so I pulled into a lay-by. His name was Chris and he was about 30 days into his journey. We had a cuppa and a chat and then he had to get back on his way. I tried to lift his pack but it was soo heavy. I asked him if it had a name. I named it Hugo, huge pack on the go. I was also concerned that Chris didn’t have much in the way of hi viz so I gave him a hi viz vest for Hugo.

Tesco shop done, fuel tank filled and off back to Fiona’s for dinner.
