Day 255: rest day Dunbar and Kirkcaldy

Best bits: long lay in

Worst bits: saying goodbye to Heather and Janette

Distance: rest day

Yeah I had a long sleep last night and didn’t get up until 10:30 am. After a cuppa I put Heather to work sewing some patches on the hi viz vests.

Time for washing and drying in the sunshine.

Janette rustled up a fine Sunday lunch complete with desert.

It was an opportunity for more relaxation in the sunshine.

Finally it was a debrief of the last two weeks. I have walked 217 miles mainly in the heat but also some heavy rain from Sunderland to Kinghorn crossing the border and travelling down to London and back. What a couple of weeks.

I have been excellently supported by Heather and Janette who kindly ferried me around, fed and watered me and booked some wonderful accommodation so that I could have plenty of space and comfort. It was fantastic and I enjoyed spending some quality time with them.

Unfortunately it was time to pack up Priscilla and drive to Kirkcaldy and park up for the night and watch the women’s England v Wales game.
