Day 247: rest day – returning to Newcastle

Best bits: catching up with Darryl and Stephen, Saturday night in Cullercoats!

Worst bits: waiting for a train

Distance: rest day

A lazy morning recovering from yesterday and looking through this months Attitude magazine in which there is a feature on all the prize winners including me!! Click here to see more

Poor Will had to go to a session at University. I blobbed all morning then said my goodbyes to Greg and Poppy and made my way to Kings Cross station.

Darryl (my brother) and Stephen (brother in law) were in London for a wedding yesterday and so we met up for a cuppa and a catch up. Will also managed to join us.

Then it was back on the train, or so I thought! My ticket was apparently only valid on Lumo trains and the next one wasn’t for nearly 2 hours! Agh!! Oh well I had another cuppa and something to eat before finally boarding the train.

I was very disappointed that given it’s Pride weekend there wasn’t a single Pride flag in Kings Cross station.

Heather collected me from Newcastle and whisked me back to Cullercoats where Janette had food at the ready. I had popped into a supermarket at the station and bought us a bottle of champagne to celebrate.

Angela loved fizz and we toasted her, she would have had some Chambord in hers, a lethal combination! Especially for the uninitiated.

Meanwhile Will had sent pictures from the Pride march which they had taken Poppy to!

Not wanting to be left out, apparently it was a typical Saturday night in Cullercoats!

I’m off to bed now as I’ve got a busy day tomorrow.
