Best bits: Chris Kamara supporting me
Worst bits: very windy sandblasted legs
Distance: 5.1 miles
This morning Penny and I dropped Priscilla off at the service department to get several issues fixed. Not a great experience and not one that filled me with confidence.
We then travelled to Saltburn to the Spa Hotel where we had an excellent reception and tea and scones. I then did a recorded interview for Greatest Hits radio which should have gone out this afternoon on Teesside and probably Friday in Newcastle.
Elsa from Marie Curie arrived at the same time as a photographer and we chatted about arrangements for the rest of the afternoon.
Then lovely Chris Kamara arrived and we spent the next hour or so chatting, walking and posing for photographs. Basically being told what to do! Where to stand, where to look,

Chris was stopped every few minutes and asked by people if they could have a selfie with him. He was absolutely brilliant with everyone, never refusing any request and so kind and gentle.
Chris amongst many other things is an ambassador for Marie Curie as his mother received help from them when she was ill. He had heard about my trek and wanted to support me.

Chris cheered me on and told people why. The interview is here BBC Radio Tees

Phil and Willis joined me this afternoon for what turned out to be a short walk along the beach into Redcar. It was quite breezy and occasionally we got our legs sandblasted! Phil got his feet wet going a little too close to the waters edge.

We arrived in Redcar around 4pm which was a little too late to go on to Middlesbrough so we just went for a cuppa and a sandwich instead. Penny joined us as she had been a star today handing out cards and hearts.

Back in Spennymoor Rhoda had been in bed all day and was spiking a temperature. Poor thing. Steve cooked dinner and then I went in the bath. I was very tired today.
