Best bits: more drone filming
Worst bits: saying goodbye to Emma, shoulder pain still a mystery
Distance: rest day
I spent yesterday evening trying to study up on the use of my drone. So this morning I was up and out and back off to Birling Gap to try and get some good shots.
My first attempt was on the clifftops. However, just as I started flying the drone a coach load of Japanese tourists arrived and walked right through the shot.

I decided to go down to the beach where it might be quieter. It was quite breezy, but the drone managed well and I got some good footage using the quick shots facilities. That black dot is me on the beach..

I reviewed these in Priscilla whilst recharging the drone. Then it was time to go and collect Emma from Eastbourne train station.
We returned to Birling Gap and back down on the beach. Emma was awe struck by the scenery which I am now sort of taking for granted. We took some of the quick shots from this morning but they didn’t come out as good as the first attempt. However, I tried flying the drone manually and this gave some really good material for Emma to use. The landing wasn’t particularly professional as I tried to land the drone on my hand and unfortunately grabbed it rather than let it rest there and nearly got my fingers chopped off in the process! Oh well we survived to tell the tale.

We had a spot of lunch at the Beachy Head pub before walking a short way along the cliff tops in an attempt to see the Beachy Head Lighthouse. Unfortunately, we were too far east and it was not visible to us.
The final recordings Emma needed was a short interview piece on my thoughts on how I have progress of the last 18 months since Angela’s death followed by me reading a section of my Valentine’s Day blog.
It was then back to Eastbourne to drop Emma off at the station and say what could be our final goodbye. Instead we said ‘that’s a wrap’. It’s been a real pleasure working with Emma and I’m looking forward to seeing the product which I’m sure will be spectacular.

I arrived at Asda in just enough time to meet Ann and Lynne. As they are both retired physiotherapists, I got them to examine my shoulder which has been giving me a lot of pain since I had a heavy fall at Tintagel, way back in early March.
Doing a shoulder examination in a motorhome is a tricky activity. However, I did manage to get my shoulder through full range of movement in all directions. Palpation and movement with resistance failed to reveal any sore spots. Adduction and internal rotation and its reverse movement causes me sharp pain in my upper arm around mid deltoid. So it’s still a mystery. Any suggestions?

After all that physical activity, we popped out to a pub and had a bite to eat and a blether. This was followed by Lynne having a quick drive of Priscilla around Asda’s car park. We said our goodbyes and I left to drive to Hastings.
