Day 104: rest day Weston-super-Mare

Yippee I had a lay in this morning until 9am. Today was a day of jobs, fuel and gas for Priscilla and giving her a good clean inside in readiness for Fiona’s arrival.

A quick shopping trip in Asda and then off to Bridgtown. We had a wee wander around the town centre and then had a cuppa and a natter in a cafe. Lots to catch up on from back home.

When the RAC came a few weeks ago in Pembroke they diagnosed a faulty sensor on the clutch pedal. I’ve not been able to get a Fiat garage to repair it as they have been fully booked, that’s Swansea, Cardiff and Bristol.

Today 12th February I called the service department at Fiat Plymouth who had a space for 17th March. Yeah amazing!! Don’t get too excited Tracey as they wouldn’t order a part for Pricilla in advance as they needed a diagnosis from a Fiat Master technician! Obviously the RAC doesn’t come into that category! That would mean that they would do the diagnostics again and then the part might take 24 hrs to a month to arrive!!

In desperation I called Fiat in Exeter, same company. They would take the diagnostics from the RAC and they had a slot on 19th Feb but wouldn’t book me in until they knew they had a part! Alas the parts department didn’t get back to me today. If all goes well with an answer tomorrow that still means a 3 hour round trip to Exeter to get it fixed next week.

Several hours later we had dinner, wine and watched some TV before planning the route for tomorrow. Then it was off to bed. We know how to live!!!

Best bits: Fiona’s arrival

Worst bits: trying to sort repairs for Priscilla

Distance: rest day
