A beautiful sunrise marked the start of the day. I walked into a field full of Highland coos and a bull and then onto the coastal path which hugged the coastline quite closely. Of course there was lots more mud to be negotiated.

This morning was pretty tough with lots of uphill climbs and then steep descents before being sent straight back up. I was sweating most of the morning and kept stripping layers off. However, there was still lots of mud!

Today was so different from yesterday which was very wet and miserable and the day before with 70 mile an hour winds. It was calm and the sun was trying to get out.

I spent some time taking photographs today as I didn’t manage to take many yesterday at all.

I bumped into Stephen and Amanda who I met yesterday in the rain. Yet again they were going in the opposite direction to me. We were looking out to sea and determined that the land mass we could see was in fact Ireland. Then we continued going our separate ways.
After a few more stiff climbs, I got my first sight of Bardsey Island at the end of the Peninsula. It would take me another hour to get right round the very end of quite literally the edge of Wales. So I sat at the old coastguard lookout point and had something to eat.

I continued on downwards, then up then down. I met a family out for a walk then continued onwards towards Aberdaron. There were several false Peninsula for me to walk around and lots more up and down steps before I finally arrived.

Aberdaron and the beach there was a place where we spent many, many days in summer and winter with the kids and Jackie and Alex and sometimes Bev and Denys. It holds very fond memories of the kids surfing and body boarding, even Angela joined in sometimes much to everyone surprise.
I hade made good time it was only 12:30 so I decided to try and walk back to Awelon to save Alex a journey.

I decided to walk up the road rather than round the headland and I was pleased I did because the fog came down and enveloped me. It was drench.
I called Bev and then my mum to wish them a Merry Christmas. Then I had an urge to call Angela. This made me become emotional as I really wanted to hear her voice.
I arrived at Awelon in the fog. Finished not only for the day but now had two days off for Christmas.
Best bits: seeing Bardsey
Worst bits: up and downhill
